Kali Grainger RSW, BSW

Counselling Focus- Grief and Loss (including Helping Children with Loss and Pet Loss certified), Anxiety, Depression, Stress, Life Transitions, Aging and Retirement.

Counselling Styles & Methods- I work from a heart and person centered space and aim to provide a calm, healing experience for clients, where they feel heard and understood.  I believe in a holistic approach to well-being, as we are complex beings with varying needs. I provide support through talk therapy, utilizing a strengths-based approach to empower clients to realize their potential to overcome. I also utilize techniques such as CBT and Mindfulness to assist when it is relevant. I am intuitive in the sense that I pick up on the emotions and energies of the people around me, something I have been aware of since a young child. I have a strong sense of knowing when something is or isn’t right, which allows me to better connect with clients. In addition, I have extensive lived experience (particularly in grief and loss) that has given me the best education to support others experiencing similar situations.

About Me- I am a registered social worker in Saskatoon, with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work.  I am also a certified Grief Recovery Specialist, which utilizes the Grief Recovery Method for moving beyond the pain caused by loss of any kind.  I was born and raised in Saskatoon, Sk. and I am an only parent to an exceptional almost 12 year old, as well as 1 dog and 2 cats.  I take pride in the life I have created for our family, following the sudden and traumatic death of my fiance Chris in 2012.  I feel gratitude for the opportunity to walk along others as they navigate through loss, and other life experiences.
