What does a virtual or phone session with one of our counsellors look like?

  • Booking: Once you book your counselling session online or over the phone you will receive an email showing the type of session you booked (phone or virtual), as well as the date and time of your session. (Note: The timezone is Central Standard Time.

  • Beginning a Counselling Session: At the time of your session, we will either call you (for phone sessions) or you will open the reminder email and click on the “begin your online appointment” button (for virtual sessions) to access the virtual video app.

We begin by setting an intention to focus and create a space of healing. Following this, we will ask a series of questions to guide our session.

  • End of a Counselling Session: We discuss a plan of action for moving forward in counselling and book a follow-up session(s) if it is fitting. Next, we process payment and email you a receipt which you can use for your mental health employee benefits. (Government services are billed directly, so no receipt is needed.)

Will my employee benefits cover counselling?

  • Treaty Mental Health Benefits — Health Canada (Non-insured Health Benefits)
